Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi in New York to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and the situation of refugees and internally displaced persons.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace has ordered an investigation into the leaking of dozens of Afghan translators working for British forces. The email addresses of more than 250 people seeking asylum in the UK were mistakenly copied to one of the leaked emails of the British Ministry of Defense

The deputy head of the Taliban's cultural commission released a photo of the entrance to Kabul airport, saying the airport was ready for domestic and international flights. After entering Kabul, the Taliban removed the heart sign from the "I love Kabul" sign, which was widely criticized.

ISIL claimed responsibility for a series of bombings in Jalalabad, eastern Afghanistan, on Saturday and Sunday. The group says 35 Taliban members were killed or wounded in the bombings.

Afghan media reported an explosion in Jalalabad against a Taliban vehicle that caused several Taliban fighters to be taken to hospital. The blast occurred less than 24 hours after a similar blast in the same city, which also targeted Taliban vehicles, killing at least two people and wounding 19 others.
