Former Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh flees Panjshir to Tajikistan

Reports indicate that fighting continues in parts of Panjshir, with forces affiliated with Izdiar's science, Fazl Ahmad Manavi and several other resistance commanders engaged in heavy fighting with the Taliban.

Saleh Mohammad Rigestani, commander of Gol Haidar, and Munib Amiri were also reportedly killed in a recent Taliban operation in Panjshir.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, in separate telephone conversations with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Emir of Qatar on Afghanistan, stressed that the international community must remain active in helping the Afghan people and rebuilding the country.

Sources close to the Popular Resistance Front to Afghanistan International reported that Amrullah Saleh, the former vice president of Afghanistan, had fled Panjshir to Tajikistan. Mr. Saleh has been with Ahmad Massoud for the past three weeks. Ahmad Massoud is reported to be in a safe place in Panjshir.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke by telephone with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Khalifa Al Thani about developments in Afghanistan. Khan and bin Salman stressed the need for a comprehensive political solution in Afghanistan.
